Cloud Based Content Security Service and Automated VPN Client for Small Offices Help Aruba Win Prestigious UK Security Award
SUNNYVALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aruba Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: ARUN), the global leader distributed enterprise network solutions, today announced that the Aruba Operating System Release 5.0 (ArubaOS 5.0) has won the UK’s Computing Security Magazine's Wireless Security Product of the Year Award. Awards were conferred upon one vendor or service provider in each of 23 unique categories based on feedback from readers. The wireless security category included a wide range of Wi-Fi related products, and the ArubaOS 5.0 operating system was voted by users to be the overall winner.
First shipped in March 2010, ArubaOS 5.0 was introduced with Virtual Branch Networking 2.0 – a solution providing cloud-based content security services for small offices and branch offices, and a Virtual Intranet Access client that provides road warriors and other mobile workers with Windows-based laptops, netbooks, and PCs with user-friendly, secure access to the corporate network without separate, dedicated VPN infrastructure.
“Enterprises today have an increasingly distributed and mobile workforce that needs reliable and secure access to data and applications wherever they work or roam,” said Keerti Melkote, Aruba’s co-founder and Chief Technical Officer. “We’re honored to have the capabilities of this innovative solution recognized with the Computing Security Award.”
The presentation for the inaugural Computing Security Awards took place on November 4th. In total 23 awards were presented at the Hotel Russell in London's Russell Square. The winners in 20 of these categories were determined by nominations and votes cast by the readers of Network Computing and Computing Security. Nominations first opened at the end of June. In total, more than 5,000 individuals cast votes, making this one of the largest surveys relating to security solutions ever carried out in the UK.
