Matthew Coon Come recognized by the Cree and Eeyou Istchee First Nations 

Matthew Coon Come, will receive the Public Policy Forum’s distinguished Marcel Côté Award for development, self-determination and human rights advocacy on behalf of the Cree and Eeyou Istchee First Nations. Mr. Coon Come will be recognized along with two other outstanding individuals who have shown leadership in improving public policy and discourse for Indigenous communities, both nationally and internationally.

The Finance and Sustainability Initiative awarded Goldcorp’s 2015 sustainability report as the best in the Non-Renewable Resources – Gold companies category for 2017. Overall First Place Provincial Mine Rescue Competition

Goldcorp Musselwhite Mine Rescue team claimed the overall first place in the Provincial Mine Rescue Competition among seven teams across Ontario. The Musselwhite team also earned the Team Firefighting Award and John Guthrie Award (Special Equipment).

John T. Ryan National Safety Trophy

The Quebec Mining Association (QMA) awarded the John T. Ryan National Safety Trophy to Éléonore in recognition for their outstanding safety record in 2016. With 2,592,938 hours worked during 2016, Éléonore had a reportable injury rate of 0.15. This was the best among Metal Mines in Canada.

Goldcorp receives the 2015 best sustainability report award

Goldcorp’s 2015 Sustainability Report was selected by IFD-FSI, the Finance and Sustainability Initiative, as having the best corporate sustainability report. Goldcorp won in the Non-Renewable Resources – Gold companies category for 2017 as judged by jurors composed of university students from several Quebec universities. FSI's best sustainability report competition aims to promote excellence in sustainability reporting among Canadian public companies.

Goldcorp receives CPA Canada Award of Excellence in Corporate Reporting

Canada’s Chartered Professional Accountants Association (CPA) honored Goldcorp in two categories: Award of Excellence for Sustainability Reporting and Corporate Reporting for the Mining category. Goldcorp was recognized in the Sustainability Reporting category by producing transparent reports that addressed challenging issues, with strong focus on materiality; and in the Mining category by our best-in-class sustainability reporting and a strong investors’ website.

Roger Souckey receives Workplace Inclusion Award

Goldcorp’s Director of Corporate Social Responsibility, Canada and US Region, Roger Souckey, receives the Workplace Inclusion Award in the Changemakers Category under Initiator (Individual). Goldcorp was recognized for one of the most intensive internal indigenous partnership reviews ever conducted across the company and its mine sites. The award recognizes the leadership of organizations and individuals that have advanced Indigenous people, businesses, and communities through Indigenous workplace inclusion.

Business Laureates of British Columba (BLBC) Hall of Fame: Ian Telfer, Chairman

Goldcorp Chairman of the Board, Ian Telfer, was inducted into the Business Laureates of British Columba (BLBC) Hall of Fame on May 12th, 2016. The BLBC Hall of Fame was established in 2005 by Junior Achievement of British Columbia. It recognizes and honours the outstanding BC business leaders who have shown a unique vision, provided leadership, demonstrated integrity, and built a legacy in BC.

Anna Tudela named recipient of PEAK Award

Goldcorp’s VP, Diversity, Regulatory Affairs & Corporate Secretary, Anna Tudela, has been named as a recipient of a PEAK Award by the Association of Women in Finance (AWF). The award recognizes outstanding contributions to the advancement of women in the field of finance, including executives, bankers, lawyers, accountants, investment professionals, actuaries, venture capitalists, insurers and entrepreneurs. Anna was selected as a winner in the Champion category.

Mining Hall of Fame: Ian Telfer, Chairman

Goldcorp Chairman of the Board, Ian Telfer, was inducted into the Canadian Mining Hall of Fame on January 15th, 2015. The Canadian Mining Hall of Fame was established in 1988 and recognizes and honours leaders in the Canadian mining industry. Mr Telfer is recognized for more than three decades of success in the mining industry.

Goldcorp has been recognized by El Economista (the Economist) magazine as one of the 21 most socially responsible companies in Central America. The May 2015 edition of the magazine included a feature about the Marlin Mine’s open pit closure to highlight reclamation efforts currently underway.

Western Canada General Counsel of the Year: Charlene Ripley, EVP, General Counsel

Goldcorp’s Executive Vice President and General Counsel, Charlene Ripley, was named Western Canada General Counsel of the Year at the fourth annual Western Canada General Counsel 2015 Awards (WCGCA). The WCGCA is the only national programme in Canada which exclusively recognizes excellence within the in-house Counsel community. It is founded by the National Post and ZSA Legal Recruitment to honour the best in-house lawyers west of Ontario.

Goldcorp named Mayor’s Arts Honouree for Business Support

The City of Vancouver’s Alliance for Arts and Culture jury has chosen to honour Goldcorp for its contributions to community arts initiatives such as the Goldcorp Stage at the BMO Theatre Centre, Simon Fraser University’s Goldcorp Centre for the Arts and continuous support for the Bard on the Beach Festival, Arts Umbrella, and Full Circle Talking Stick Festival. Goldcorp was also selected for its generous donations to musical endeavors such as the Vancouver Tap Society, Vancouver Opera and the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra.

Goldcorp wins 2015 UN Global Compact Peer Review Distinction Award

Goldcorp participated in the UN Global Compact Network Canada Reporting Peer Review Program and was honored with a Certificate of Appreciation, along with Telus, as this year’s winners. The award is based on the total score submitted by peer participants, using an evaluation framework based on the United Nation’s priorities around anti-corruption, labour, environment, and human rights management.

Anna Tudela and Sophie Bergeron named in WIM UK’s 100 Global Inspirational Women in Mining List

Anna Tudela, VP, Diversity, Regulatory Affairs & Corporate Secretary and Sophie Bergeron, Acting Manager of Operations, PGM-Borden Gold Project, have been named in Women in Mining’s (UK) 100 Global Inspirational Women in Mining list for 2016. WIM (UK) is a non-profit organisation dedicated to promoting and progressing the development of women in the mining and minerals sector. Anna and Sophie were nominated by their peers for the contributions they have made to the mining industry and those around them.

Raman Randhawa named to Business in Vancouver’s Forty Under 40

Raman Randhawa, VP Business Performance & Reporting, has been listed as one of Business in Vancouver’s 2016 Forty Under 40 winners. A panel of six judges chose him based on his achievements in the business world, leadership capabilities, and the level of support he has offered the city’s communities.

Canada’s Chartered Professional Accountants Association (CPA) has honoured Goldcorp with three awards of Excellence in Corporate Reporting: the top award of Overall Award of Excellence for best reporting of all public companies in Canada, and the Awards of Excellence for Sustainability Reporting and Corporate Reporting for the mining industry. These awards recognize organizations that demonstrate outstanding commitment to providing complete, timely and transparent disclosures.

Goldcorp receives best corporate sustainability report 2013 award

Goldcorp’s 2013 Sustainability Report was selected by IFD-FSI, the Finance and Sustainability Initiative, as having the best corporate sustainability report. Goldcorp won in the Extraction and Processing category for 2014 as judged by the McGill University student-jurors. The selection was based on a list of sector specific criteria in order to determine the best reports in six segments of the TSX60Plus.

Goldcorp Guatemala receives “Excellence in Journalism” award

Goldcorp Guatemala was honoured by the Guatemalan Chamber of Journalism with the “Excellence in Journalism” award. Goldcorp Guatemala received the award for their collaboration in organizing the 2014 Journalism Development conferences, supporting training workshops for journalists in rural areas, and for being a founder of the Press Center.

First place in the 52nd provincial mine rescue championship

Goldcorp's Éléonore Mine Rescue Team took first place in the 52nd provincial mine rescue championship in Chicoutimi, Quebec. The Éléonore team ranked first among fourteen teams and also took home the "Team Mission" prize for best performance in the field.

Dani Drewek receives Influential Women of Northern Ontario’s Tradeswoman of the Year 2014

Dani Drewek, Cage Tender at Goldcorp’s Red Lake Gold Mines, received the Influential Women of Northern Ontario’s new award Tradeswoman of the Year 2014. She is recognized for excelling in a non-traditional career and achieving a skill level respected by her peers, supervisors, and community.

Éléonore supervisors receive 2014 Foreman Trophy

L’Association minière du Québec (AMQ) recognized nine supervisors from Goldcorp’s Éléonore operations for reaching between 50,000 and 150,000 cumulative career work hours without a recorded incident by the workers under their supervision. Érick Savard, Stéphane Turgeon, Stanley Twardy, Marco Cadrin and Réal East were recognized for reaching 50,000 hours, Jacques Héroux and Éric Devin were recognized for reaching 100,000 hours, and Normand Charette and Jean-Marc Saint-Amant were recognized for reaching 150,000 hours.

Goldcorp receives CPA Canada Awards of Excellence in Corporate Reporting

Blanca Treviño named Mexico’s 2014 Woman of the Year

Goldcorp Board of Director member, Blanca Treviño, was named Mexico’s 2014 Woman of the Year. The award is given to women who carry out work of great social significance. In addition to sitting on the board at Goldcorp, Ms Treviño is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Softtek, an IT company based in Monterrey, Mexico.
