We buy goods and contract services locally when we can and when it makes sense for the business, so we support economic development in local communities and build strong relationships with local stakeholders. We also work with our sites to select suppliers that share our vision of sustainable development, and consider things like compliance with labour practices, human rights, ethics, anti-corruption and safety standards.
We choose partners who are ethical, reliable and proud of the quality of their goods and services.
Our Supply Chain group conducts due diligence on every potential supplier, and considers many things as part of the procurement process, including:
- total cost of ownership
- technical experience
- performance
- quality
- standardization (equipment)
- delivery date/schedule
- environment
- human rights
- safety
- service
- sustainability performance
Suppliers must be able to meet the mine’s logistical requirements. They must also respect our Code of Conduct and other policies that apply to them in their business dealings with us and on behalf of Goldcorp.
